Syria

I think what is happening in Syria is a genocide because they are killing civilians for no reason at all and they killed one of the boys from the group who spray painted graffiti on the side of a school building. I think this is very wrong and we should try to do something about it rather it is sending more soldiers to Syria or anything to help.

Who's to blame for Rwanda?

I blame the UN because they were offered help during the crises but they decided not to accept because they thought Dallaire wouldn't be able to handle it  and they also said they "didn't want put Dallaire in something he couldn't finish".  But if i were them i would have taken the offer because something is better than nothing in this case if not all other cases. As far as they knew Dallaire could have had a good plan, which he did. So they should have just taken the offer.

Defiance

I am neutral. I think that they are both justifiable and not justifiable because they are wrong in a way but they are also right in a way. I think they are justifiable because they are trying to protect themselves, and looking out for there family and friends. i think this is not justifiable because they are stealing and i think stealing is very wrong.

The evidence that suggests life was normal before the German occupation is that the people in this photo are actually happy, even thou they aren't smiling directly you can tell that they are happier than they would be if this photo was taken during the German occupation and also that they weren't wearing the star on there coats or jackets. I noticed as I looked through my family photos is that most of my photos were with someone else. The photo I chose was a picture with me and my dad and it relates to the photo that I researched by them both being with a parent and they both have the youngest child.Differences are that my dad is holding me and in the other photo the mom is holding her son.Another difference is race, and picture color.


Switzerland has had a  Jewish community since the 13th century.Before and after  the Second World War, Switzerland gave refuge to about 23,000 Jewish refugees until the government decided that Switzerland would serve only as a country of transit. In 1942 the Swiss police issued a regulation that denied refugee status. By the end of the war less then 25,000 Jews were permitted to take refuge. According to the 1990 census only 17,577 Jews  which is 0.26% of the total population reside in Switzerland.

Stage of Genocide

The stage of genocide that i found was Classification when the Jews were taken from there homes and taken to the concentration camps. They were being separated or divided from the rest of the population in Germany.

How my view's changed

My view's haven't really although i learned that Genocide can also be viewed as causing mental harm in any way to a person of a specific religion of ethnic group.

The person i am writing about is Kristine Hagopian . She was born in 1906. She is a elderly woman who  survived the Armenian Genocide. she has grey/brownish hair and she has a bump on her nose.

I think that she is feeling kind of sad in her picture because she isn't smiling and also because in her picture she has her head leaning to the side.In her story her and her family were dragged out of there beds and lined up against a wall her father was raped.

He later tried to kill himself and he eventually did after her and her family escaped. i imagine that after this happened to her and her family that she felt lonely, even thou she still had the rest of her family because she lost a big part of her life at that moment.

i think a questioned that she left unanswered was why did her father kill himself? why did her father leave her and her family alone?

Classification/Symbolization

 When people start to take away peoples right and start to discriminate against people and they start separating people from were they belong. This is were genocide becomes a huge problem.
